Middle Leadership and Management in Schools PgCert

The PgCert in Middle Leadership & Management in Schools is designed for middle leaders who want to enhance and develop their practice, and experienced teachers who would like to progress to a leadership role. It will equip you with a critical understanding of the principles underpinning leadership and management, with a particular focus on leadership at the middle level in schools in posts such as Principal Teacher, Faculty Head or Department Head.<br/><br/>**WHY THIS PROGRAMME**<br/>- If you are a Principal Teacher or Faculty Head, or an experienced teacher who aims to progress into a leadership role in a school, this programme is designed to develop your leadership knowledge, understanding and skills.<br/><br/><br/>- It uses practice-focused learning to develop your capability to lead teaching and learning within your context.<br/><br/><br/>- There is a focus on collaborative learning, drawing on your own experiences and those of your academic colleagues.<br/><br/><br/>- Our academic staff play a leading role in the area of professional learning and leadership development in Scotland and beyond. They have been involved in a range of research projects on headteacher recruitment, teacher leadership, coaching and leadership development, teachers’ work and collaborative professional enquiries.<br/><br/><br/>**PROGRAMME STRUCTURE**<br/>You will take two core courses.
