Course Overview - Animal Science Msci (Hon)

Our courses blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning. You will be taught by academics who are at the forefront of research in their fields. You will gain practical animal handling experience including guinea pigs, sheep, hens and cows, with practical sessions and field trips.

You can choose from four options:


- Bioveterinary Science – examine the science behind animal health and disease


- Physiology and Biotechnology – study animal structure and function, including stem cell and developmental biology

This qualification will be considered where appropriate biology content is being studied. The requirement is 60 credits overall with 45 graded credits at Level 3. 21 credits must be achieved at Distinction; 18 credits at Merit (including 15 credits from Biology units) and 6 at Pass.

BTEC National Extended Diploma in Agriculture is not accepted. Other qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure sufficient biology has been studied.
