University Summary

The University of Bath (informally known as Bath University, or Bath) is a campus university located in Bath, United Kingdom. It received its Royal Charter in 1966. The Sunday Times has placed Bath as the 5th best university in the United Kingdom and awarded the institution the title of ‘University of the Year 2011/12’. Research Assessment Exercise released in December 2008, two thirds of Bath’s individual subject submissions are ranked in the top ten nationally including over a third in the top five.

The university, being a member of the 1994 Group of research-led British universities, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Association of MBAs, the European Quality Improvement System, the European University Association, and Universities UK.

The university comes top for student satisfaction out of more than 150 higher education institutions in the UK, and according to the National Student Survey (NSS) of 2013, their students overall satisfaction rate was 94%. The NSS 2013 also awarded the university top ranking in three subject tables, being, Mechanical Engineering, (97% satisfaction), Aerospace Engineering (96), and Business studies (98%).

Being ranked the top British Campus university, by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2014, their students ranked their Students’ Union as the fourth best in the UK, and has the lowest dropout rates in Britain at 3.1%.
