Biotechnology with German for Science

Embrace the opportunity to learn German while studying biotechnology.<br/><br/>By studying German in conjunction with biochemistry, you can combine your training in both fields as you learn how to present scientific and technical materials in German.<br/><br/>As a bridge between biology and technology, biotechnology explores the commercialisation of technology, entrepreneurship, intellectual property, and patents.<br/><br/>Youll benefit from our internationally leading research programme, as well as lectures and case studies from business and academic leaders.<br/><br/>This course will prepare you for advanced study in biotechnology as you explore a range of topics.<br/><br/>Youll get a solid grounding in biological chemistry, molecular biology, integrative cell biology, and genes and genomics in the first two years.<br/><br/>In your third year, youll have the opportunity to attend lectures and conduct research at a German-speaking university.<br/><br/>A wide range of optional modules are available in your final year so you can pursue your interests and complete a research project or dissertation.<br/><br/>The skills you develop will prepare you for advanced research and career opportunities in industries such as healthcare and biochemistry.<br/><br/>**As well as your main Imperial degree (BSc), you will also receive the award of the Associateship of the Royal College of Science (ARCS) on completion of this course.**<br/><br/>Please note: **this course is not suitable for native or near-native German speakers.**<br/><br/>Normally only students who are on track for at least a 2:1 by the end of their second year, will be eligible to spend their third year abroad.<br/><br/>The structure of the Departments courses means that transfer between different Biotechnology and Biochemistry degrees is usually possible up until the end of the second year.
