Our BA in Politics and Economics explores contemporary developments in both the political sphere and the economy. It asks fundamental questions about how politics shapes the economy and how the economy shapes politics. You will delve into discussions of how society allocates resources, policy and power, to understand the world around us. You will develop your subject knowledge and analytical skills through the investigation of political systems and decision making across national and international organisations. You will become equipped with the necessary skills to research and analyse key concepts of both subject areas and gain an understanding of politics and economics independently as well as how these two areas inform each other.<br/><br/>Politics is at the core of society and shapes the lives that we live. On this programme, you will explore the governmental and institutional decisions that impact society and how it operates. You will engage with questions and debates about justice, conflict and power which will build on your knowledge of people and places, whilst critically evaluating key contemporary issues. Youll have the opportunity to investigate how these questions are addressed in different countries and regions across the world.<br/><br/>The study of economics will allow you to explore core disciplines such as microeconomics and macroeconomics and (optionally) econometrics, plus a range of other options, developing your subject knowledge and skills. You will engage with the study of economic behaviour of households, firms and governments and the implications of their actions for consumption, investment, profits and production.
