There will experience a real-life work environment for a ‘learn whilst doing’ approach, allowing your development of enterprise and entrepreneurial skills. <br/><br/>**What will I study?**<br/>**Year 1:**<br/>Academic Skills Development – 20 credits<br/>Visual Communication – 20 credits<br/>Floristry Design: Elements and Principles – 20 credits<br/>Floristry Workshop Practice – 20 credits<br/>Commercial Floristry Design Project – 40 credits<br/><br/>**Year 2:** <br/>Floristry History and Context – 20 credits<br/>International Floristry Design – 40 credits<br/>Floristry Creative Practice – 20 credits<br/>Industry Design Project – 40 credits<br/><br/>**Learning and Teaching Approach** <br/>This programme is delivered with a variety of learning and teaching approaches to include all students learning styles and preferences.<br/><br/>For all modules, theory lectures are delivered that aim to deliver the core content and provide the underpinning knowledge. The teaching methods focus on facilitating a student centred approach to enhance the independent learning that takes place outside of the classroom.<br/><br/>**What is the Contact Time?**<br/>The full-time pathway includes approximately 16 hours a week, incorporating lectures, seminars, debates and tutorials. You are also expected to carry out a significant amount of private study in addition to contact time (25-30 hours a week). A part-time option is also available. You can expect to receive your timetable during induction week.<br/><br/>**Work Experience**<br/>The Floristry Workshop Practice module in year one and Industry and Design module in year two support you to take part in a real work practice assessments such as: freelance work, enter a floristry competition (subject to availability) or develop and undertake a relevant floristry enterprise. Relevant extra-curricular activity and/or work experience is encouraged to enhance your learning.<br/><br/>**What else can I expect?**<br/>- Additional facilities include Science Centre, IT suites, dedicated University Centre, study spaces and social areas, and modern Learning Resources Centre.<br/><br/><br/>- Online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) used to enhance and facilitate teaching and independent learning on all programmes.<br/><br/><br/>- Experienced, supportive and motivated staff with both academic and industrial experience.<br/><br/><br/>- Our experienced Life Coaches are on hand to help you through your University journey from mentoring and coaching to health, wellbeing and resilience.
