Public Services HND

The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Public Services (HND) is the equivalent to the first two years of a University Degree and provides a specialist programme of study that covers the skills required to be successful in uniformed and non-uniformed Public Services.<br/>This course will enhance your potential for employment through having a greater understanding of roles within various services such as the prison service, criminal justice system, emergency services and the military.<br/>The course will explore criminal behaviour, mental health and wellbeing, organisation structures, crime reduction strategies and effective coaching and mentoring strategies to provide essential understanding for a range of the diverse opportunities available in the Public Services sector.<br/><br/>This is a work-related qualification for students taking their first steps into employment, or for those already in employment and seeking career development opportunities.<br/><br/>The purpose of BTEC Higher Nationals in Public Services is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the public services sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualification aims to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects.
