The course will ensure you develop highly professional skills and knowledge of engineering that will enable you to be employed. In such a competitive and challenging world, knowledge, skills, and expertise in engineering are invaluable. <br/><br/>During the first year, you will study engineering in a multidisciplinary context. You will cover the fundamental principles, skills, and knowledge of engineering sciences such as mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and computational techniques in solving engineering problems. <br/><br/>In the second year, you will study a 20-credit module focusing on electrical engineering besides the engineering science to maintain the general engineering discipline. <br/><br/>Finally, in the third year, you will study a 40-credit mechanical engineering module besides other relevant engineering discipline modules leading to an industrial-based independent project. The Independent project will consolidate the specialism of your pathway<br/><br/>**Applied learning**<br/>**Live Projects**<br/>Throughout all years of study you will have the chance to work on live-projects, using the tools and skills relevant to the industry today. You’ll be treated as a professional from the day you join us, and these projects will help you to harness the skills you learn with us to the real world. <br/><br/>You will have the opportunity to get involved with SHU Racing, initiated and led by Sheffield Hallam students. SHU Racing caters to a broad audience, reflecting our commitment to professional diversification. The team strive to optimise and develop a Formula Student competition car. This is done through smart innovation and professionally engineered development, implementing lean manufacturing strategies.The SHU Racing team currently consists of over 70 undergraduate students, predominantly from the engineering disciplines.
