Whatever your background, in partnership with Solent University, Resonance’s popular music production programme will enable you to deepen your skills in a wide range of areas – preparing you for a fantastic career as a music producer of the future.<br/><br/>The course explores three main areas of study: technical and musical foundations, music and sound production in studio and live settings, and employability in the music industry. These varied subjects enable you to gain a broad understanding of the industry, so when you graduate you’ll be equipped with the right skills and knowledge to kick-start your career.<br/><br/>Student learning is aided by access to our industry standard facilities. These include 3 state of the art recording studios (networked via DANTE, running Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, Studio One and Ableton), a range of mixing workstations, and a Production Lab with 18 Apple/Focusrite/Novation workstations. You’ll also have access to 8 large rehearsal rooms with fully equipped with backline and PA systems, as well as 6 fully soundproofed individual practice rooms.<br/><br/>The curriculum is delivered by an experienced course team, many of whom are active industry experts with professional experience in performance, studio and live sound, electronic sound design and the business and culture of music production. All of our Staff are actively engaged industry practitioners. <br/><br/>Thanks to the Resonance’s close links with industry, you will have the opportunity to attend weekly guest lectures from visiting industry professionals. Speakers have recently included: John Waugh (The 1975), Dexter Wansel (Grammy award winning artist), Sheena Sear & Mark Stuart (M2 Studios), Tim Carrol (CEO Focusrite), John Daily (DeFacto Marketing), Richard Taylor (Musical Director for Boyzone, Ronan Keating, Emin, Nile Rogers and many more…), Sam Dorrance (Touring Artist), Brendon Riley (Touring Backline Technician)<br/>Steve Smith (Marshall), Creative Technology, Alex Hutchings (Touring Session Musician at Composer), Genevieve Little (Touring Artist), Jamie Franklin (Artist Relations at Roland) and many more…<br/><br/>Resonance is based at Cable Plaza, part of the spectacular Waterfront complex in Brierley Hill, just over half an hour from Birmingham City Centre. The brand-new, purpose-built facilities are outstanding, providing everything an ambitious musician, producer, composer, teacher and entrepreneur would need to excel in their studies. Our local live music venues include; Red By Night, KK Steel Works, The Robin 2, Symphony Hall, Birmingham O2.<br/><br/>**What does this course lead to?**<br/><br/>This course may lead to work in diverse areas such as live sound, game audio, recording studios, film and television sound, and technical support. <br/><br/>**Who is this course for?**<br/><br/>Resonance’s music production programme is ideally suited to students who want to combine that unique mix of technical and musical skills, while developing an understanding of the industries that await them. Applicants should previously have studied music technology or a related subject, or be able to demonstrate some music making experience.
