Studying the MSci Chemistry with Industrial Experience will deepen your understanding of the subject and equip you with valuable professional insight.

Working in industry will allow you to develop real world expertise and specialise in an area of science that most interests you. Many of our industrial partners are involved in meeting the global challenges that chemists can help solve, especially in healthcare and the environment. In recent years, our students have worked in drug discovery and development (AstraZeneca and GSK), crop science (Bayer), banknote development and production (Portals Paper) and catalysis (Johnson Matthey).

The transferable skills that you gain will prove invaluable in helping to shape your future career. Our alumni have established careers with a wide range of employers, including Teach First, GlaxoSmithKline, Deloitte LLP and HM Revenue and Customs.

Our students have used their final year projects to work on vital challenges in chemistry: they have helped to discover new catalysts that have the potential to reduce the environmental impacts of major chemical processes, identified and measured the sources of pollutants in our atmosphere, and engaged in organic chemistry projects related to drug discovery.

Think Big bursaries of £3,000 are available to support first-year international undergraduate students in this subject area.
