Aberystwyth is surrounded by a great diversity of farmland and agricultural terrain, and you will receive a high-quality academic education alongside vocational training on our commercially managed university farms.<br/><br/>The BSc Agriculture (Top-up) degree will provide you with a sound understanding of planning techniques for farm businesses, including how to construct fully detailed farm business plans. You will gain practical experience of acting as a consultant to the manager or owner of an agricultural enterprise or business, providing solutions to the real-life challenges facing them. You will also have the opportunity to specialise in livestock production, crop and grassland production or the agri-environment through a choice of optional modules.<br/><br/>Visits to farms, rural businesses and organisations involved in the regulation and management of the countryside will highlight the key issues at stake and enable you to see the practical business applications of your theoretical and academic learning.<br/><br/>Our graduates have achieved successful careers in many areas of agriculture and its related industries, including enterprise and farm management, animal health and nutrition, agricultural politics and administration, crop and grassland agronomy, as well as administrative, consultancy and sales careers with agricultural supply companies.
