This foundation degree in Floristry Design is focused on developing your knowledge and understanding of a broad range of floristry skills and techniques, supported with essential theoretical studies.<br/><br/>The programme is designed to help you gain a firm understanding of essential commercial floristry skills and to give you the ability to develop these skills further, becoming confident with contemporary techniques and a wide range of approaches to floristry design. The will experience a real life work environment for a learn whilst doing approach, allowing your development of enterprise and entrepreneurial skills. <br/><br/>**What will I study?**<br/>**Year 1:**<br/>- Academic Skills Development - 20 credits <br/><br/><br/>- Commercial Floristry Techniques - 20 credits <br/><br/><br/>- Visual Communication - 20 credits<br/><br/><br/>- Bridal Design Project - 20 credits <br/><br/><br/>- Floristry Practice - 20 credits <br/><br/><br/>- Contemporary Design Skills - 20 credits<br/><br/><br/>**Year 2:** <br/>- Floral Composition - 40 credits<br/><br/><br/>- The Business of Floristry - 20 credits<br/><br/><br/>- Contemporary Techniques and Materials - 20 credits<br/><br/><br/>- European Practice - 20 credits<br/><br/><br/>- Floristry Enterprise and Entrepreneurship - 20 credits<br/><br/><br/>**Learning and Teaching Approach** <br/>This programme is delivered with a variety of learning and teaching approaches to include all students learning styles and preferences.<br/><br/>For all modules, theory lectures are delivered that aim to deliver the core content and provide the underpinning knowledge. The teaching methods focus on facilitating a student centred approach to enhance the independent learning that takes place outside of the classroom.<br/><br/>**What is the Contact Time?**<br/>For each 20 credit module students will receive approximately 54 hours of class / contact time with the tutor.
