This 2 year 1 day per week course is designed to provide:<br/><br/><br/>- Training for technician in design research, development and service support activities in Engineering, Manufacturing and Electronics.<br/><br/><br/>- Progression to BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.<br/><br/><br/>- The language, knowledge and practical skills demanded in the Engineering Industry.<br/><br/><br/>- Technical certificates for the Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering.<br/><br/><br/>Units of study include:<br/><br/>Year 1 –<br/><br/>4002 Engineering Maths M/615/1476<br/>4008 Mechanical Principles F/615/1482<br/>4014 Production Engineering for Manufacture H/615/1488<br/>4017 Quality and Process Improvement H/615/1491<br/><br/>Year 2 –<br/><br/>4001 Engineering Design F/618/8080<br/>4004 Managing a Professional Engineering Project F/615/1478<br/>4011 Fluid Mechanics R/615/1485<br/>4013 Fundamentals of Thermodynamics and Heat Engines D/615/1487<br/><br/>This is classed as a part-time course. On successful completion of this course, you will gain a BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma.<br/>You can achieve a BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma by studying a further two years on successful completion of the BTEC Level<br/>4 HNC Diploma.
