The exciting and dynamic world of computer science is at the heart of many aspects of modern life, and the MSci Computer Science will give you both the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to become a part of that world. This four-year course will give you a true breadth of experience in Computer Science, providing extensive coverage of the subject beyond a traditional three year BSc. <br/><br/>On this course you will develop transferable technical, analytical and professional skills, supported by a broad awareness of current technology trends. The course covers a mixture of core techniques and concepts, advanced programming languages and paradigms, and evolving, technology-based subject matter. You will gain exposure to topics that are driving key technological developments and trends in Computer Science.<br/><br/>During the final two years of the course you will choose to study a selection of optional, research-led modules that will provide you with exposure to a wide set of skills and knowledge across the breadth of Computer Science research in the school. These modules include a number structured around advanced topics in the Schools three core research areas:<br/>- Complex Systems<br/><br/><br/>- Visual Computing<br/><br/><br/>- Data and Knowledge Engineering<br/><br/><br/>Graduates are able to objectively analyse problems and develop appropriate computational solutions.
