Computing - Cyber Security HNC

Computing Programmes are in high and increasing demand, especially in large metropolitan areas like London and the Home Counties. The number of IT/Technology based start-ups and companies expanding in this area have made higher computing skills more desirable to enable these companies to do business. <br/><br/>The 2022 Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Computing are designed to help students secure the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in the workplace. They represent the latest in professional standards and provide opportunities for students to develop behaviours for work, for example by undertaking a group project, or responding to a client brief. A student may even achieve membership of selected professional bodies, to help them on their journey to professional competence. <br/><br/>Student will study a suite of eight level 4 units. Each unit is 15 credits, these include - <br/>• Programming – Learn about algorithms, how they are defined, and how they are implemented in code.<br/>• Networking – Discover the core principles of networking and how to achieve communication between devices.<br/>• Professional Practice – Develop skills as communicators, critical analysers, team workers, and interpreters.<br/>• Database Design & Development – Develop your understanding of the concepts and issues relating to database design and development.<br/>• Security – Learn how to detect threats and vulnerabilities in physical and IT security, and how to manage organisational security risks.<br/>• Management a Successful Computing - Project (Pearson-Set)<br/>• Cyber Security (Specialist Unit) – This unit will enhance your knowledge and understanding in relation to cyber threats, cyber defence techniques and incident response.<br/>• Website Design and Development – Introduction into services required to host, manage and access a secure website, including methods used by designers and developers to blend back-end technologies with front-end technologies
