Subject Knowledge Enhancement Mathematics (Primary Mathematics Specialist)

If you have applied, or are considering applying, to study on the PGCE Primary Mathematics Specialist with QTS at Edge Hill University, this course has been designed to enhance your subject knowledge in mathematics.<br/><br/>If you have GSCE Mathematics at Grade B or C or Grades 4-6 (or equivalent), this subject knowledge enhancement course will enable you to further develop your mathematical subject knowledge to the required level. It is also suitable for applicants to the PGCE Primary Mathematics Specialist with QTS who achieved GCSE Mathematics at Grade A or Grade 7 (or equivalent) who wish to refresh their subject knowledge.<br/><br/>The aim of the course is to prepare you to teach the conceptual and applied aspects of the subject effectively, with competence, enthusiasm and confidence, to learners aged 5-11 years. It will cover the four operations used to solve equations, as well as fractions, decimals and percentages, geometry and statistics, and overarching themes such as problem-solving, fluency and reasoning.
