Food Industry Technical Professional Degree Apprenticeship BSc (Hons)

An apprenticeship is a job first, with specialist training. Apprentices will develop the knowledge and applied understanding of food science and technology, as well as the practical skills and behaviours required by their employers. The course is delivered over 4 years, with up to 6 block teaching weeks on campus per academic year. Apprentices are expected to attend all teaching weeks for practical sessions and lectures. 20% of contracted working hours are protected for off the job training and study towards the apprenticeship. The rest of the time will be spent working within the business and applying learning within the workplace. <br/>Details of the course content can be found here: https://www.harper-adams.ac.uk/courses/apprenticeship/201153/food-industry-technical-professional <br/><br/>Food Industry Technical Professionals ensure the safety and quality of food products, including improving existing products and launching new products, working with operational teams to develop food practices and procedures and developing good relationships with internal and external customers. <br/><br/>Career progression - Apprenticeship roles can lead to jobs such as Assistant Food Technical Manager, Quality Manager, Shift Quality Manager, Hygiene Manager, Product Innovation and Development Technologist.<br/><br/>Entry requirements - The entry requirement for the degree apprenticeship will typically be a minimum of three A levels at Grade C or higher, including a Science or Food Technology, or the equivalent (in UCAS points) or a Level 3 apprenticeship in a related discipline. Current employees who already have experience in the industry, and would like to become an apprentice, can discuss enrolment with our team of specialists.
