On the Keele Foundation Year, youll study on campus, joining our undergraduate community from the outset, with access to all the facilities and support that youd get as an undergraduate student at Keele.<br/><br/>**International Students**<br/><br/>For International Students, Foundation Years are delivered through our dedicated on-campus provider, Keele University International College. Applications for International Foundation Years are also handled by KUIC; please do not apply via UCAS as the University will not be able to process your application and you may still be charged the UCAS application fee. You will explore a range of issues, such as film aesthetics and technologies, representations of gender, race and sexuality, and the politics and economics of the global entertainment industry. You will develop technical language and key analytical skills, and have opportunities to do creative work according to your interests. Film Studies at Keele allows you to delve deep into the theoretical analysis of film from both historical and modern perspectives, identifying key debates in contemporary screen media, and analysing a broad range of film and television texts from the widest cultural contexts. Ranging across Hollywood film, world cinemas and newer forms of global film and television, you will consider the characteristics that distinguish these different types of production.<br/><br/>The depth and breadth of the course will strengthen your critical thinking as well as widening your cinematic and cultural knowledge.
