You will gain a solid understanding of biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, physiology and anatomy and their application to the development and pharmacology of acquired and inherited disease. <br/>To strengthen your understanding in these core areas and to provide context to your leaning, you will explore:<br/><br/><br/>- The mode of action of drugs used in the treatment of a wide range of conditions<br/><br/><br/>- Selective toxicity<br/><br/><br/>- Modern drug discovery<br/><br/><br/>- Emerging technologies in drug development<br/><br/><br/>- The drug development pipeline<br/><br/><br/>- The wider societal impact of pharmacology<br/><br/><br/>During years two and three of your studies, you will have the flexibility to choose from optional modules that are aligned to your career goals or interests.
