The European Studies (French pathway) BA is an interdepartmental study course that allows you to study Modern Europe from a French perspective. You will study the politics, history, language and contemporary culture of France in depth. This will prepare you for the third year, which is typically taught and examined in French at Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po), our current French partner.

Scottish Higher

Access to HE Diploma

Access to Humanities Diploma (or similar subject). In addition applicants must either offer an academic qualification equivalent to A-Level grade A in French for standard pathway, or, take the DELF or DALF (minimum DELF B2).

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

35 points overall or an aggregate score of 17 from three Higher Levels. There is no required subject for the Ab Initio pathway. Must include grade 5 in Higher Level French for the standard pathway.  Notes: The total point score of 35 includes TOK/EE.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Please note that Global Perspectives is not accepted by King’s as one of your Pre-U Principal subjects. Combinations of Pre-U principal subjects and other qualifications (such as A-levels) will be considered. Must include French at grade D3 for standard pathway.
