**Human Geography**<br/>Human Geography involves the study of the interrelationships between people, place, and environment, and how these vary spatially and temporally across and between locations shaping the lives and activities of people, and their interactions with places and nature. It covers many different perspectives and brings them together to create a distinctive way of understanding the world. Human Geography is more allied with the social sciences and humanities, sharing their philosophical approaches and methods.<br/><br/>Our degree investigates human-environment relationships offering you the chance to develop an integrated, enriched understanding of what is taking place on our planet particularly through, for example, the lens of tourism, exploring urban environments, small island settings or applied aspects of natural hazard management. In addition to specialising in human geographical dimensions, you will look at a wide range of different geographical topics and learn a broad range of skills. The overarching aim of our Human Geography degree is to provide students with opportunities to contribute to an environmentally sustainable and socially conscious<br/>future.<br/><br/>Liverpool is a particularly great place to study Human Geography, being an excellent case study of economic, environmental and social regeneration, and having surroundings that include rural and coastal settings.<br/><br/>**Media & Communication**<br/>If you want an exciting career in the media but also want to understand how and why the media reports and represents the world in the ways it does, studying at Hope is the next step for you. Media and Communication provides you with an opportunity to closely study and analyse the ways in which the media industry shapes and is shaped by our world. Our degrees are designed to help you become an industry leader who is equipped to take on the critical task of ensuring a more reliable, trustworthy media industry, and to work as a cross-platform media practitioner.<br/><br/>Our curriculum is taught by lecturers with a reputation for international research and by a practitioner who has made BAFTA and EMMY award winning programmes and animated films. Media and Communication at Liverpool Hope is underpinned by the notion of interrogating power. We believe that the media must always be held to account and has a responsibility to pursue social justice. Whether it be through journalism, digital and social media theory and applied skills, our aim is to produce graduates who will make a better world.<br/><br/>**Please note that Combined Honours degrees at Liverpool Hope University are split 50/50.
