This CPD course is aligned to the new CIPD professional map and is designed to give you the related knowledge and behaviours required to succeed in this fascinating career.<br/><br/>Completing the People Management and Practice CPD programme at Liverpool John Moores University will boost your human resources career progression. Furthermore, you will be eligible for Associate Membership of the CIPD.<br/><br/>This programme has been designed specifically for people who work full-time, with classes running on Wednesday evenings starting in September. You will also have the option to attend additional networking sessions with undergraduate and postgraduate MA Strategic People Management and Practice students.<br/><br/>Human Resource and people management practitioners need to be business thinkers as well as leaders and be able to translate theoretical concepts into practical reality. Their ultimate goal is to boost the people capacity, thereby reducing staff turnover and increasing productivity. For this they need high levels of interpersonal skills, self-motivation, adaptability and persuasiveness.<br/><br/>The following modules make up the programme:<br/><br/>**People Practice and Professional Behaviours**<br/><br/>The module aims to provide an understanding of the core professional elements of human resources, including related knowledge and behaviours. The module provides a foundation of knowledge and skills in readiness for professional application. Workshops incorporate lectures, group discussions and practical formative assessment exercises.<br/><br/>**Effective People Management at Work**<br/><br/>The module aims to enhance the understanding of contemporary people practices to better support working lives ranging from creating a conducive inclusive working environment, developing talent, and understanding the factors that influence reward and its impact. It also examines role of supporting line managers to carry out people practices and explore contemporary human resource practices.
