The course encourages a developmental approach to teaching and learning, encouraging research, experimentation and reflection. This highly practical course has a strong emphasis on professional working practices, focusing on the development of individual competence and confidence in the production of industry standard outcomes. Module design enables students to develop their own creative ideas to discover their own individuality and to make them stand out in the field of professional make-up, hair and body artistry. You will benefit from the smaller group sizes which allow for more contact time with your tutors, better access to teaching staff within a supportive and inclusive environment. <br/><br/>The course has excellent connections within the industry, and will offer students the opportunity to engage with industry professionals through organised trips, guest speakers, demonstrations and benefit from the current professional experience of our lecturers. Here you will have access to industry standard facilities and resources including bespoke studio space for make-up and wig making. Your course will be enhanced by visiting lecturers from the creative industries, giving you direct insight into working in the industry and developing your professional practice. The sectors we work in are dynamic, competitive and creative. They will constantly seek new motivated professionals who can think on their feet, reflect upon their experiences and promote positive experiences for others. You will also take part in a Graduation Ceremony which celebrates all our students’ achievements. <br/><br/>Course Progression<br/>Students will enter the Level 6 course from a variety of routes including Foundation Degree and Higher National Diploma. Following successful completion of the Degree, students may progress onto Masters Level Study in Research or Creative Industries, or progress directly into employment.
