Digital Graphics for Games Production BA (Hons)

**The BA Honours Digital Graphics for Games Production degree provides an ideal opportunity to explore the technical skills and software associated with digital design, animation and games production. Youll also explore how these subjects and associated skills are converging in industries at the cutting edge of global collaborative technologies.**<br/><br/>**This award is validated by The Open University .**<br/><br/>**About the course**<br/><br/>In years one and two, students combine theoretical work and assessments with modules that clearly focus on the understanding of production processes associated with digital and games-based design. Students will have some opportunity to choose modules that reflect their interests and career aspirations whilst still ensuring they have a clear understanding of skillsets that will allow them to succeed in the wider industries. <br/><br/>Year three provides the opportunity to show academic understanding with a dissertation whilst also analysing what skill sets they need to improve to meet practical and software based understanding needed in the industry through the completion of a module in Advanced skills in Digital Design. Finally, students undertake an independently planned and managed production project to demonstrate their skills to potential employers.<br/><br/>The degree is taught at our ultra-modern City Hub campus providing access to professional equipment, studio spaces and Adobe Creative Suite along with other relevant software. You will also have numerous opportunities to engage with other students preparing to get into the creative industries and work in response to real-life industry briefs.<br/><br/>**What you will cover:**<br/><br/>**Year 1 (Level 4) modules:**<br/><br/>-visual imagery<br/>-stories in games and interactive media<br/>-interactive design<br/>-games asset creation<br/><br/>**Year 2 (Level 5) modules:**<br/><br/>-graphics for apps and games<br/>-animation production<br/><br/>And choose two from:<br/><br/>-games asset production<br/>-app development<br/>-3D production or<br/>-coding for games production<br/><br/>*Year 3 (Level 6) modules:<br/><br/>-dissertation<br/>-advanced skills in interactive design<br/>-independent project<br/><br/>**Assessment**<br/><br/>A combination of traditional and innovative assessment methods are used: including case studies, group projects, live briefs, peer review, time-constrained assessments and presentations. There are no examinations.<br/><br/>**Bursaries**<br/><br/>We want our courses to be accessible to students from any background, so we’ve put together a cash support package in the form of non-repayable bursaries to provide financial help where it’s really needed.
