Digital Media Design Top-up BA (Hons)

**If you already have (or expect to achieve) a full Level 5 qualification - such as a Higher National Diploma (HND), Foundation Degree (FDA) or Diploma in Higher Education (DipHE) - in a relevant subject - this course allows you to top-up to a full Level 6 BA (Honours) degree. This course has a strong focus on business and enterprise and will help lay the foundations for your chosen career. Youll develop business skills such as pitching creative ideas and sourcing funding opportunities, and produce material of a professional standard that demonstrates your ability to succeed in the fast-paced and dynamic digital industries.**<br/><br/>**About the course**<br/><br/>Project work takes place on an individual basis, and culminates in an independent assignment for an end-of-year show. <br/><br/>Practical production elements are delivered during seminars, with access to superb workshop facilities and technical support. <br/><br/>The course has strong links with the UKs creative industry that generates live briefs.<br/><br/>You will have the opportunity to specialise in one area of production including: <br/><br/>-3D<br/>-graphics<br/>-web technologies<br/>-digital imaging<br/>-post-production<br/>-video production<br/>-radio production<br/>-film and TV production <br/>-animation <br/>-digital journalism<br/>-photography<br/><br/>This course is delivered through a comprehensive lecture programme, skills workshops, studio seminars, individual and group critique, and one-to-one tutorials. <br/><br/>**Modules include:**<br/><br/>-professional practice<br/>-specialist skills in digital design<br/>-independent study<br/>-contemporary issues in digital design<br/><br/>The course culminates in students showcasing their work in a professional & public exhibition. Industry professionals act as mentors on live projects and students meet guest speakers as a regular feature of the course.<br/><br/>**New City Hub campus**<br/><br/>Our Media department is based at the colleges new £58 million City Hub campus at 111 Canal Street, near Nottingham train station. The campus features state of the art teaching and learning facilities, science and computing laboratories, digital media broadcasting centre, with a restaurant, cafe and performing arts venue.<br/><br/>**Assessment**<br/><br/>Assessment is via individual and group assignments, group presentations, research assignments and examinations. <br/><br/>**Bursaries**<br/><br/>We want our courses to be accessible to students from any background, so we’ve put together a cash support package in the form of non-repayable bursaries to provide financial help where it’s really needed.
