**About this Course:**<br/><br/>This course has been carefully designed in consultation with employers within the sector to ensure that the content represents the skills and knowledge needed by graduates to be able to directly meet the needs of employers within games development. The focus will be around the development of practical skills which can be applied directly to tasks which are contextualised and able to test your skills in the real world. <br/><br/>We work closely with real clients to create a learning environment which is as close to what you will be doing in the industry as possible. All staff have strong links with industry and the qualification has been designed with employers at the heart of the content. We use state-of-the-art equipment and industry standard software. We also have a range of real life projects that you would be invited to work on as part of your programme. <br/><br/>As a Games Development student, you will acquire essential production and creative development skills through the design and creation of live games projects. <br/><br/>**Modules Covered:** <br/><br/>**Year 1** <br/>Games Design Theory <br/>3D Environments for Computer Games<br/>Introduction to Games Mechanics <br/>Visual Concepts for Games<br/>3D Modelling <br/>Games and Design Project<br/><br/>**Year 2** <br/>3D Character Modelling<br/>Advanced Gameplay Development<br/>Animation Techniques<br/>Human Computer Interfaces for Computer Games <br/>Sound Design for Games <br/><br/>**Progression:**<br/><br/><br/>- Upon successful completion of the course you could progress onto employment within the games development industry ad a tester, animator, designer or more. <br/><br/><br/>- Further study and top-up to a full degree. <br/><br/><br/>**Entry Requirements:**<br/><br/><br/>- A minimum of 48 UCAS points from the one of the following two:<br/><br/><br/>A Levels in related subject <br/>60 Access to HE credits of which a minimum of 45 must be at Level 3 in a related subject. <br/><br/><br/>- GCSE English and Maths at a grade C/4 <br/><br/><br/>- A good technical knowledge of games development along with a good reference<br/><br/><br/>- Relevant work experience will be considered on an individual basis<br/><br/><br/>If you do not meet these requirements please contact us as we are able to consider applicants with other qualifications, relevant experience or personal circumstances on an individual basis.
