Real Estate with Professional Placement Year BSc (Hons)

Graduates have fulfilled roles at prestigious companies such as Deloitte Real Estate, Hamptons International and Savills.<br/><br/>Accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), this is the ideal launch pad into the professional world of real estate. You will learn about acquisition, sales, letting, development and management of property interests and investments, town and country planning and building construction. <br/><br/>**Course structure**<br/>You will cover rural as well as urban property issues throughout all years of the programme. The broad nature of the curriculum keeps your options open for future specialism in areas that interest you most in your final year.<br/><br/>Modules are divided into three streams: Property, Land Use and Development and Business. You will learn through lectures, smaller group tutorials, visiting lecturers from industry, practical sessions, study visits and real-life case studies as well as completing a Research Project in a subject area of specific interest. The course is also flexible and it is possible to transfer on to the Rural Land Management degree at the end of the first year, and occasionally, at the end of the second year.<br/><br/>**Work placement**<br/>The one year placement in Year 3, is designed to enable students to complete a relevant enhanced work placement experience to help them identify future career choices and enhance relevant skills sets sought by employers. It is an additional module that students can choose to take after their work experience at Level 5. The module allows students to develop a deeper understanding and gain further experience in a relevant business or employment area to enhance their work experience at Level 5. Students are expected to experience and engage in various aspects of their chosen industry from an operational to practical working.
