**Please check the Sheffield Hallam University website for the latest information.** <br/><br/>**Course summary:**<br/>- Gain in-depth knowledge and detailed understanding of the principles and practice of human nutrition.<br/><br/><br/>- Develop an appropriate level of competence in public health management including financial, organisational and applied management relevant to employment in the nutrition and the public health sector.<br/><br/><br/>- Enhance your ability to critically analyse current and developing theory.<br/><br/><br/>Nutritionists within the public health sector play an important role in promoting good health and preventing diet-related disease in the population. Youre required to identify areas for personal development in your action plans and identify objectives and activities to undertake.<br/><br/>Typical activities include work shadowing/volunteering, attending nutrition and food-related conferences, events and workshops and undertaking online courses. You also produce a reflective portfolio where you map your developmental activities to the core competencies for nutritonists outlined by the Association for Nutrition (AfN).<br/><br/>**Networking opportunities**<br/>We encourage you to attend conferences, external workshops and other sector related events.
