**Please check the Sheffield Hallam University website for the latest information.**<br/><br/>**Course summary**<br/><br/><br/>- Gain the skills and knowledge to work at the cutting edge of research and development in the sports equipment industry.<br/><br/><br/>- Develop a biomechanical and physiological understanding of athletes so you can analyse athlete-equipment interactions in sport.<br/><br/><br/>- Have the opportunity to work abroad – with the possibility of Erasmus funding being available for European placements.<br/><br/><br/>On this course you’ll enhance your technical, problem-solving and engineering skills and learn to apply them to the sporting environment.<br/><br/>**How you learn**<br/><br/>All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.<br/><br/>You’ll gain practical experience in techniques relevant to the sports engineering industry. Youll learn how to use engineering software and hardware – taught by experts who have a wealth of experience to share. <br/><br/>There are also opportunities to study abroad at one of our with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus+ programme (until 2023) or the Turing scheme. <br/><br/>You learn through<br/><br/><br/>- individual and group work<br/><br/><br/>- an industry-relevant project<br/><br/><br/>- placements<br/><br/><br/>**Applied learning**<br/><br/>**Work placements**<br/><br/>You’ll have the opportunity to complete an industry-linked research project to develop your practical understanding of sports engineering, gain vital real-world experience and improve your employability. Recent student projects have been partnered to organisations such as Adidas, Ping, Mitre, FIFA, International Tennis Federation, and the English Institute of Sport.<br/><br/>You’ll also be provided with a significant number of opportunities to undertake additional placements, internships, and volunteer roles. You’ll be encouraged to develop your own experiences to enhance your career.<br/><br/>**Networking opportunities**<br/><br/>The course is delivered by the Sports Engineering Research Group, an internationally renowned group with over 200 years of cumulative experience in delivering research and consultancy. We have a large number of research staff and PhD students combined with a great alumni network, so you’ll be exposed to some of the latest research in the industry.<br/><br/>We have close relationships with many different sports companies and organisations and work extensively to enhance elite performance across many sports through our role as an English Institute of Sport research and innovation partner.
