We are one of the few universities in the UK that offer September and January start dates for almost all of our courses.<br/><br/><br/>- Based in Buckingham on a riverside campus, we are only 20 minutes’ from Milton Keynes central station and a short drive from Bicester, Aylesbury, Banbury and Northampton. There is free parking on-site and we are within easy reach of London and Oxford.<br/><br/><br/>- Our award-winning small class tutorials ensure every student is known by name and supported throughout their studies, including by dedicated personal tutors.<br/><br/><br/>- As pioneers of the two-year degree, we offer a condensed version of the traditional three-year degree, meaning you can gain a full honours degree and complete your studies a whole year earlier. Alternatively, you can complete both your undergraduate and master’s degree with us in just three years: saving you time and money.<br/><br/><br/>Data Science has become a new and important discipline of science that has a wide range of applications (e.g. AgriTech, FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, Transport). It includes solutions that handle big data from capturing, storing, processing, analysing data to visualising insights. These solutions can include data mining, machine learning, advanced analytics, data visualisation and in-database analytics.<br/><br/>The MSc in Applied Data Science aims to train a new generation of data scientists to meet the growing demand for specialist skills in this field. Underpinned by the Department’s research expertise, a unique feature of the programme is the embedding of skills and knowledge relevant to leadership in IT, technology innovation and enterprise, ethics, and research. These skills will be developed through a series of workshops conducted by relevant experts from within the University and from industry.<br/><br/>This programme is a specialist master’s programme for first-degree holders in computing-related majors such as computer science, computer engineering or software engineering. The programme consists of 3 common core modules, 3 specialised core modules, a leadership and innovation module, a work placement module, and an individual project. The programme strikes a balance between theory and practical skills, emphasising on technical know-how, innovation and application.<br/><br/>We can offer an intensive delivery model of 1.5 days of contact time per week in order to accommodate those who are in full-time employment.
