This International Business and Commercial Law course will introduce you to the theory and practice of international business regulation in a globalised world.<br/><br/>Your studies will cover both legal and financial aspects, giving you a well-rounded qualification which will enhance your ability to work as a legal expert in multinational corporations.<br/><br/>Based in London, the global centre for banking, finance and trade, you will benefit from the excellent links that UWL has with major corporations as well as being close to the centre of legal administration and policy.<br/><br/>The course will focus on international business law from a global perspective. It will identify the important characteristics of doing business in an international environment, the main sources of regulation, and key concepts of contract and corporate law.<br/><br/>You will explore business dispute resolution and be introduced to the concepts of corporate social responsibility, in particular, doing business in developing countries.<br/><br/>The course will also touch on other common law and civil law jurisdictions, and give you a critical comparative law approach to international commercial law.<br/><br/>Your teaching staff are highly qualified and have current experience of international legal practice. Their expertise will inform your studies and help you to identify a relevant topic, that supports your professional goals, for your dissertation. Furthermore, you will have access to an on-site courtroom with laptops and video equipment for judges/advocates, which is ideal for student mooting competitions.<br/><br/>Teaching time<br/>This commercial law course is designed to fit around your work commitments. If you are studying full time, you will have on average four hours of teaching time each week. In addition to your regular course time, you will take one module dedicated to research methods in a legal context and produce your dissertation of 15,000 words.
