With a wide variety of modules on offer, you will be able to tailor your modern languages degree to your areas of interest.<br/>You will spend a Year Abroad in the third year, split between two countries where your languages are spoken. <br/><br/>UCL houses the oldest centre for Dutch Studies with the most comprehensive Dutch Library in the English-speaking world. You will gain near native understanding and translation skills in Dutch as part of your degree, and you will also learn about historical, cultural and political developments across the Low Countries as a whole. You will study in a small, friendly department, with an excellent staff-student ratio unusual in higher education nowadays.<br/><br/>Knowledge of Russian gives you direct access to a fascinating cultural and historical tradition, helps you understand the evolution of Russian philosophical and ideological trends, and brings you closer to one of the world’s most dynamic geopolitical regions.
