**Join our TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More**<br/><br/>On this 2-year Foundation Degree you will study a range of modules covering different sport, physical education, exercise, coaching and health related topics.<br/><br/>The programme has a focus on physical education and sports coaching to support lifelong learning and development. The programme recognises the synergy between the disciplines of physical education and sports coaching by providing a variety of exciting and creative learning opportunities for learners to gain knowledge and experience of how they complement one another in practice.<br/><br/>You will study a range of modules covering different themes related to physical education and sport coaching. - For example, pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning, understanding the athlete, performance assessment and reflection. Throughout the programme you will be given the opportunity to research your chosen areas of interest relating to physical education and sport coaching.<br/><br/>During the second year of the programme a work-based placement opportunity will be incorporated in to one of the modules and will be linked to assessment. The work-based placement will give the students the opportunity to experience a real working environment related to their studies (physical education and sport coaching) and to enable them to develop a range of skills required within their chosen field. This will include communication, organisation, time management teamwork and collaboration within an authentic work setting.<br/>Once you’ve successfully completed the degree you’ll have a clear understanding of the industry, relevant practical skills, as well as the academic understanding that will allow you to progress onto the BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching and Health Sciences (Top Up), or into employment.
