It draws on concepts from psychology, sociology, criminology, philosophy and education to critically consider ways of working that will create positive, inclusive outcomes and support future generations.<br/><br/>The programme aims to:<br/><br/><br/>- Build on students’ varied Level 4 and 5 studies to develop their knowledge and understanding of the interrelated and complex factors that impact on people’s wellbeing and experience of the social world.<br/><br/><br/>- Develop students’ ability to apply social science and counselling theories to explain and address personal and social issues.<br/><br/><br/>- Prepare students to work flexibly, effectively and compassionately with vulnerable groups, individuals, colleagues and other professionals, through careful reflection and critical exploration of research, evidence practice-based experience, individual cases, contexts, and policy.<br/><br/><br/>- Enable students to develop as active and critically conscious life-long learners, with a sound understanding of the relationship between theoretical frameworks and empirical methods of enquiry, which inform the development, interpretation and continuing re-evaluation of theory and professional practice<br/>
