An undergraduate degree in Russian at Birmingham allows you to explore a wide range of historical, cultural and literary topics as well as learn the language.

With this intercultural degree, youll gain compentency in the Russian language, preparing you to work in a number of sectors from business and marketing to translation and teaching. Our BA Russian is flexible, meaning youll be able to major in the Russian language or choose to study it as a Joint Honours, where your second language holds equal weighting.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal

Accepted in place of A levels with the following grade equivalencies: D2 = A*; D3 = A; M2 = B. Combinations of A levels and Principle subjects are accepted. NB required subjects must be offered (see A level Section)

Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (first teaching September 2015)

Accepted in place of a non-required A level with the equivalent grade.

A level grade B is required for each advanced language you wish to study. It is also possible to study two beginner (including post-GCSE) languages without taking an advanced language, as long as one of your beginner languages is French or Spanish.
