Throughout your studies, you’ll be based at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, which will give you access to clinical areas from day one and develop your understanding of how modern healthcare operates.

With around 160 students in each academic year, the size and structure of our medical school helps you get to know your peers and the academics and clinicians teaching you. Youll feel part of our community from the start - especially as youll be interacting with real patients from early in the course.

AAABB (widening access) - AAAAB (standard) at the same sitting of Highers, to include chemistry and another science subject (from biology, physics or mathematics). The other three Highers can be your own choice and this choice of subjects will not influence the assessment. We also require biology at least to grade A at National 5 and mathematics and English at least to grade B at National 5, if not studied at Higher. Achievement at Standard Grade/National 5 will also be taken into account. Offers will be conditional, based on three Advanced Highers/'crash' Highers taken in 6th year, at BBB grades. Candidates who have completed S6 and have not attained the 6th year entry requirements are unlikely to be considered. With the exception of final year students, who are seeking entry to our course via the graduate route, we are unable to consider applications from current undergraduate students. Where candidates indicate that they are undertaking a ‘gap year’ we may request additional information.

37 points overall with 6, 6, 6 at Higher level to include chemistry and another science (from biology, physics or mathematics) at Higher Level, plus three subjects at Standard Level with an average of grade 6, to include Biology at least to Standard level 6. Applicants are advised to supply previously certified grades from nationally recognised exams if their application is to be competitive. Level 2 entry is not possible to this degree.

We also require English and mathematics to at least grade O2/Higher Merit in the Irish Junior Certificate/JCPA. Level 2 entry is not possible to this degree

The third subject can be your own choice; we have no preference. These results should be obtained at one sitting and at the first attempt at A-Level examinations, two years after GCSE. We also require biology, mathematics and English at least to GCSE grade B / 6, if not studied at A-level (A2). Achievement at GCSE and AS level will also be taken into account. General Studies at A-Level is not accepted.
