Classics and Linguistics MA (Hons)

In MA Classics and Linguistics, you will combine the study of:<br/><br/><br/>* ancient Greek language and literature <br/><br/><br/>* linguistics and linguistic theory with a focus on the English language <br/><br/><br/>The study of Greek will give you access to one of the world’s great literatures. You will read foundational texts of the western tradition in their original language, including: <br/><br/><br/>* epics <br/><br/><br/>* tragedy <br/><br/><br/>* philosophy <br/><br/><br/>* history<br/><br/><br/>This will complement your studies in linguistics. You will have the opportunity to investigate linguistic structures in both a dead and a living language. <br/><br/>While the programme shares a common structure with MA Classics and English Language, from Year 2 there is a focus on linguistics courses. <br/><br/>Your final dissertation is taken in either classics or linguistics.
