English Literature/History of Art MA (Hons)

**ENGLISH LITERATURE**: - You will explore all aspects of literature in English, benefiting from our expertise in a wide range of areas, including American, Irish and postcolonial literatures, critical theory, creative writing, and the relationship between literature and other arts, media and science. You will benefit from access to the University’s world-class Hunterian collection and the Library’s Special Collections, with strengths in the 18th and 19th centuries, travel, illuminated manuscripts and significant single-author holdings. <br/><br/>**HISTORY OF ART**: - History of art seeks to understand how and why paintings, sculptures, buildings, and works of design in a variety of media come to look the way they do. You will benefit from the extensive resources of the University Library and Archives, and The Hunterian, the University’s museum and art gallery, which feature the world-famous Hunter, Whistler and Mackintosh collections. You will also have access to Kelvin Hall, the University and city’s innovative collections-access centre. In your third-year vacation you will receive a grant to assist you to visit museums, galleries and buildings relevant to your studies.
