Mathematics & Statistics Faster Route BSc (Hons)

Programme Aims<br/>• To develop in all students rigorous, logical, deductive reasoning;<br/>• To give students a solid foundation in the fundamental ideas of pure mathematics, calculus, probability, mathematical methods, statistical inference and <br/> modern applied mathematics and statistics;<br/>• To enable students to use appropriate methods to solve problems and to prove results;<br/>• To give students the opportunity to develop practical skills in the analysis and modelling of data;<br/>• To prepare students for a wide range of future careers through the acquisition of specific skills and general mathematical and statistical ability;<br/>• To enable students to enhance their transferable and inter-personal skills, particularly in computer applications and programming, written communication, <br/> and problem solving to prepare students for employment in a wide variety of contexts where skills in the mathematical sciences are valued or for further <br/> study and for engagement in lifelong learning.
