Current topics include: <br/><br/><br/>- geopolitics of the anthropocene <br/><br/><br/>- borders and shatterzones <br/><br/><br/>- small island geopolitics <br/><br/><br/>- diplomatic geographies <br/><br/><br/>- migration <br/><br/><br/>- transport and transport planning <br/><br/><br/>- urbanism and urban planning <br/><br/><br/>- rural planning <br/><br/><br/>- traditional irrigation <br/><br/><br/>- children’s geographies <br/><br/><br/>- geographies of diversity and inequalities <br/><br/><br/>You will undertake an original research project for the duration of the degree, under the supervision and guidance of two or more academic members of staff. You are also supported by attendance at the Universitys generic training courses and our seminar series. For the duration of the degree, you are given opportunities to present your work at major conferences, subject to available funding for which applications for financial support would be required. <br/><br/>The degree is assessed on the final research output, in the form of a written thesis of up to 25,000 words, which is defended in a viva voce examination with an external examiner present.
