You’ll explore case studies and evidence-based interventions. Study the latest thinking on the nature of mental health. Evaluate papers, theories, findings and methods used in clinical psychology, psychiatry and other mental health-related disciplines. Then learn how to apply this knowledge to treat a variety of mental health challenges.<br/><br/>Our strong links with the NHS and local health providers mean everything you learn is up to date and sector relevant. These also give you the chance to hear from guest speakers who are practitioners in the field.<br/><br/>Supported by the expertise of our academics, you’ll learn how to design, plan and conduct mental health research. You’ll have the freedom to delve deeper into a mental health topic of your choice – to suit your interests and career ambitions.<br/><br/>Our research has wide links to local organisations, public representatives, charities, clinicians and industry. Students’ research projects have covered a range of areas including experiences of seeking therapy for eating disorders, burnout and compassion-fatigue in health workers and changes in autobiographical memory related to symptoms of depression and/or anxiety disorders.
