Matters of health are simultaneously matters of society and culture. The MA in Health, Cultures and Societies provides an exciting opportunity to explore issues around health, illness, wellbeing, and medicine, and acquire advanced training in associated methods within a critical practice-oriented framework distinctive to the University and the city of Liverpool.<br/><br/>Closely linked to the Centre for Health, Medical and Environmental Humanities, the MA in Health, Cultures and Societies is an enthusiastically cross-disciplinary initiative focused on Environmental Humanities, Arts and Mental Health and Critical Medical Humanities.<br/><br/>If you enrol for the programme you will benefit from research-connected teaching in a wide range of disciplines, including Archaeology, Anthropology, Classics, English, Geography, History, Law, Literature, Music, Medicine, Psychology, Public Health, and Sociology, among others. The master’s benefits from the research and teaching of several subject areas, including: Archaeology, English, Classics, Geography, Law, Medicine, Psychology, Public Health and Sociology. The Health, Cultures and Societies MA is the master’s programme counterpart to the interdisciplinary research and activity of the University of Liverpool’s Centre for Health, Medical and Environmental Humanities. Spanning three faculties, the Centre for Health, Medical and Environmental Humanities supports researchers working at the intersections of the natural and social sciences, arts and humanities. It fosters opportunities for inter- and transdisciplinary work, while promoting disciplinary contributions.
