Our new programme will develop your skills and expertise, and provide you with the fundamental knowledge, skills and competencies to safely and effectively work with patients after traumatic injury and provide innovative interventions for a range of health conditions including injuries sustained in high-pressure environments.<br/><br/>We will expand on your existing knowledge using evidence-based practice to repair and build a healthy body and mind.<br/><br/>You will develop your:<br/><br/>clinical judgement skills<br/>rehabilitation techniques<br/>understanding of pre-habilitation and rehabilitation of health conditions<br/>understanding of innovative technology solutions for rehabilitation<br/>research methods<br/>intervention and assessment skills for a wide variety of health conditions<br/>This programme offers a unique progression route for students from a variety of backgrounds within the field of exercise rehabilitation to study.<br/><br/>Research<br/>Youll conduct research at the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), a new 70 bed NHS rehabilitation facility thats currently being built near the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) at Stamford Hall. You will also be taught at University of Nottingham, which is next to the Queens Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham, one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK.<br/><br/>Suitability<br/>This degree is ideal if you have a background in healthcare, sport rehabilitation, sports and / or exercise science, physical activity & health, strength & conditioning or other relevant biological / biomedical science. Those with a background in biomedical engineering will also be considered.<br/><br/>Youll also be suited to this course if you have substantial professional experience (includes healthcare, exercise prescription or scientific research) in exercise prescription for injury and want to specialise in exercise remedial instruction.<br/><br/>If you have any questions about the course or NRC, please email us. <br/><br/>*The date on which applications open and the course start date are dependent on the completion of the building of the National Rehabilitation Centre, which is scheduled for the end of 2024.
