Both complete beginners and established learners welcome.<br/><br/>**Philosophy**<br/>Youll cover the traditional areas of ethics, reasoning and logic. And see how these feed into contemporary interests such as social philosophy and environmental ethics.<br/><br/>Youll also be able contrast philosophical traditions developed in ancient Greece and Rome with those developed in India and China.<br/><br/>**Different subjects - complementary themes**<br/>No previous knowledge of either subject is needed. Our first year gives everyone a common standard of knowledge and skills. Later years provide options to explore widely. You can pick individual topics that grab your attention or follow a theme that complements both subjects, such as:<br/>- Gender - what it meant to be a man in Greece and Rome and how gender operates in todays society<br/><br/><br/>- Art - Greek and Roman painting and the philosophy of art<br/><br/><br/>**Combine with other subjects**<br/>You can also combine Classical Civilisation and Philosophy with other subjects with our Liberal Arts BA.
