Our BSc Mathematics and Economics explores these questions and more.<br/><br/>This course enables you to study mathematics whilst learning key economic principles. It is run jointly with the School of Economics.<br/><br/>**About mathematics and economics at the University of Nottingham**<br/><br/>You will study core first-year mathematics modules in topics such as calculus, probability and statistics. This will develop your skills in problem solving and analytical thinking. The year will include an overview of economics, covering micro and macro economics.<br/><br/>As you progress to the later years of your degree, youll have more flexibility to choose topics from optional modules. Youll choose a dedicated economics pathway subject to your interests in:<br/>- microeconomics<br/><br/><br/>- macroeconomics<br/><br/><br/>- econometrics<br/><br/><br/>In your final year you have the option to do a mathematics group project. This gives you the chance to work collaboratively on a substantial maths problem. Youll be supervised by expert teaching staff. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your report-writing and team-working skills.<br/><br/>**Careers and employability**<br/><br/>These transferable skills can help in your career planning. Many of our graduates work in roles including government, international trade and education.
