To achieve registration, applicants first join a relevant professional engineering institution licensed by the Engineering Council to assess each candidate’s competence and commitment. For this programme, the relevant professional engineering institutions include the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) amongst others. <br/><br/>The programme provides: <br/><br/>A rare opportunity to advance knowledge and skills in engineering design practice at master’s level. <br/><br/>It aims to encourage students to tackle complex, real-world engineering challenges - applying contemporary engineering design practices, industry standard computer aided design tools, and advanced technologies to create innovative engineering solutions. <br/><br/>The programme also provides flexibility to tailor study to meet individual ambitions and interests, whilst developing research skills and mastery of mechanical engineering design practice through a 60-credit individual project. <br/><br/>Students will have access to modern, research laboratories, engineering workshops, and high-quality library and learning resources. <br/><br/>The programme is supported by enthusiastic staff with a diversity of expertise, industry knowledge, work experience, and research interests. It provides advance professional competency and workplace readiness, whilst fulfilling the educational requirements of the Chartered Engineer (CEng) Standard.
