It equips you with skills to address stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic health conditions, and prepares you for senior roles or further doctoral study, including clinical psychology doctorate training and PhD.<br/><br/>It is particularly relevant if you work, or intend to work, in the NHS, independent healthcare sector, or addiction clinics and seek to deepen your understanding of psychological therapy beyond basic professional qualifications.<br/><br/>**You will:**<br/>- Be well-prepared for further professional training (e.g., Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner training), a professional doctorate (DProf), and research careers in psychology and related disciplines.<br/><br/><br/>- Gain a thorough understanding of psychological theories central to modern healthcare.<br/><br/><br/>- Receive support from a highly qualified team of psychology staff.<br/><br/><br/>**All about the course**<br/>This course aims to develop a detailed knowledge and critical understanding of applied psychology, focusing on psychological intervention and therapeutic modalities, including CBT and integrative psychotherapies.<br/><br/>**Full-time route:** Spans 12 months, comprising three 10-week semesters. You will complete two taught modules in each of the first two semesters and a dissertation in the third semester.<br/>**Part-time route:** Extends over three years. You will complete two taught modules per year for the first two years and the dissertation in the third year.<br/><br/>The dissertation module allows you to explore an area of applied psychology and psychological therapies related to your own work or interests.<br/><br/>**What about after university?**<br/>Graduates have advanced to leadership roles in psychological therapies, senior practitioner positions, and research roles. Some have completed a doctorate in clinical psychology, trained as Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, or received bursaries for PhD studies.<br/><br/>The course serves as an excellent foundation for becoming a leader in applied psychology, opening doors to senior roles in CBT and therapeutic interventions, crucial for modern healthcare provision.
