**4th in the UK for our research impact in Philosophy in REF 2021 (Times Higher Education)**<br/><br/>**About the course**<br/><br/>Ideas, debates and thought-provoking questions – philosophy is forever challenging our assumptions about the world.<br/><br/>At Sussex, you combine the traditional with the alternative. You’ll explore interesting and unexpected approaches to the fundamental problems of philosophy. You’ll have the opportunity to study the two dominant traditions:<br/><br/><br/>- analytic philosophy<br/><br/><br/>- continental philosophy.<br/><br/><br/>During your degree, you can choose to approach philosophical questions in different ways, for example by exploring non-Western and feminist philosophy. From law to modern languages, you take electives from other subjects to open your mind to other disciplines and tailor your degree to your interests.<br/><br/>In the School of Media, Arts and Humanities, you’ll become part of a friendly community of students and expert academics. You’ll also have the opportunity to join the University’s lively Philosophy Society.<br/><br/>When you graduate, you’ll be able to reflect critically, analyse texts, produce compelling arguments and think fast. You’ll have the skills for a range of careers.
