The HNC in Performing Arts offers a unique and exciting gateway into the world of the Performing Arts with a prominent focus on independent study and finding your own specialism as a theatre practitioner. We currently offer three unique pathways; Acting, Dance and Musical Theatre. Below is an overview of each individual pathway you could choose to study here. <br/><br/>**BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Performing Arts (Musical Theatre)**<br/><br/>Throughout this highly practical course you will gain experiences with a range of different performance styles within musical theatre and performing arts. You will be introduced to a new way of exploring the musical in a critical and analytic manner. Alongside this, our HNC sets out to provide you with a set of skills and experiences that will equip you for employment within a competitive industry. Alongside being trained in musical theatre, you will also be provided with knowledge and experiences in additional related areas e.g. Technical Theatre, Marketing, Scenography, Directing, Choreography, Theatre in Education etc. Upon completing the level 4, students will then progress onto a Level 5 HND of the same pathway. <br/><br/>**BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Performing Arts (Dance)**<br/><br/>Throughout this highly practical course you will gain experiences with a range of different performance styles and approaches to technique within dance. You will be introduced to a new way of exploring choreography and performance in a critical and analytic manner. Alongside this, our HNC sets out to provide you with a set of skills and experiences that will equip you for employment within a competitive industry. Alongside being trained in various dance techniques, you will also be provided with knowledge and experiences in additional related areas e.g. Technical Theatre, Marketing, Directing, Choreography, Theatre in Education etc. Upon completing the level 4, students will then progress onto a Level 5 HND of the same pathway. <br/><br/>**BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Performing Arts (Acting)**<br/><br/>Throughout this highly practical course you will gain experience of how a real world working professional will structure, rehearse, perform and tour an exciting and engaging show to a variety of audiences and locations. You will study a range of approaches to acting styles and techniques as well as be introduced to a new way of exploring acting and its history in a critical and analytic manner. Alongside being trained in acting, you will also be provided with knowledge and experiences in additional related areas e.g. Technical Theatre, Stage craft, Marketing, Scenography, Directing, screen writing, theatre in education etc. Upon completing the level 4, students will then progress onto a Level 5 HND of the same pathway.
