Looking to enhance your career opportunities in creative media?<br/><br/>This Level 4 programme is designed for students aiming to develop a more independent and professional approach to creative media production.<br/><br/>Students are encouraged to experiment with filming styles and to progress their own skills and learning further independently by experienced, skilled specialists. <br/><br/>This advanced course is also great for creative individuals with an interest in film & TV production and studying film context at a higher level. You will be working on a range of exciting briefs and employer-led projects at an industry-level standard. The course is assessed through assignments and practical productions. You will be able to work practically in small groups or on their own to create:<br/><br/><br/>- Narrative Film<br/><br/><br/>- Experimental Film<br/><br/><br/>- Developing a concept for a Film/TV<br/><br/><br/>- Advertising <br/><br/><br/>- Magazine Programme<br/><br/><br/>- Examining the Industry<br/><br/><br/>- Analysing Film and TV <br/><br/><br/>**Trips and Equipment** <br/><br/>There may be an opportunity to take part in a visit to Europe each year of the course. Past trips have included Disneyland Paris, Barcelona, Italy. <br/><br/>Our higher education students will get the chance to use industry standard equipment including the use of our Black Magic Pocket 6K Camera.<br/><br/>**Work Experience** <br/><br/>Future Flames Productions is our in-house student production company which is unique to Walsall College. As part of the course, you will have an opportunity to produce videos or filming for other college courses or creating content for external clients like the NHS, the Council or small businesses. Here is a list of companies our students have worked with:<br/><br/><br/>- **Co-Op Travel**<br/><br/><br/>Students have been filming with Co-op in order to a virtual invitation to their conference. <br/><br/><br/>- **Stunt Team**<br/><br/><br/>Students have worked with a local stunt team which helped them understand the logistics of filming stunts. <br/><br/><br/>- **NHS**<br/><br/><br/>Students have filmed multiple moving images for the NHS, consisting of piece to camera for presentations, a demonstration at manor hospital of new equipment and a conference entitled ‘What Works: Reflecting back’. <br/><br/>**- Smile for Joel**<br/>Students filmed the black-tie ball for local charity smile for Joel which raises money for families impacted by terrorism.<br/><br/>**- Unlock Performance**<br/>Students have been working on multiple projects with local sports psychologist in which she interviews various athletes from footballers to body builders.<br/><br/>**- MA Fitness**<br/>Students produced a trailer and interview for local gym brand.<br/><br/>**Links with Industry**<br/><br/>The Media team is passionate about offering students experiences with industry professionals:<br/><br/><br/>- Regular talks from people in industry (Freelance producers/directors, Spotify, BBC 3 editors, Screen Skills and many more)<br/><br/><br/>- BBC and Royal Television Society connections.<br/><br/><br/>- Create Central links - The main creative body for the West Midlands funded by the Lord Mayor.<br/><br/><br/>- CREW Birmingham connections.<br/><br/><br/>- Opportunities to work on real sets.<br/><br/><br/>- Opportunities to have placements in industry.<br/><br/><br/>- Networking events to meet like minded creatives.<br/><br/><br/>- Masterclasses from industry. <br/>
